List

Here we are, the title of the 2nd Project after the rotation in VisCom is "List". 1st of all, we have been given a list of topics that we can choose from. Each have 10 things we need to think of. E.g. 10 places to hide, 10 things that we have lost...etc It didn't sound difficult at all at the start.... but it get worst when we got told there are rules in this project... We only allow to present the final work in a single image or a short film (a continuos video).
1st of all, we brian storm ideas by constantly making little drawings to generate ideas. I find this different method of brian storming quite efficient! So I probably will use this method at the start of every other projects from now on.

Here are some of the sketching in my sketchbook and some photographs I have taken, check it out~.~

I was influence by Peter Funch's photography. Especially the "Babel Tales". So i decided to use photography for the final outcome. Here are the photographs I took for "10 things I have lost":

After I took a few of them, i decided to choose the one above (that's been photoshopped).
Now is just left with how to make it more visualise to the audience. So I added texts into it to show "How"I lost it and the date that I lost it.

I really regret that I haven't take more photographs of me in different positions.... I may take some more in the future but because it takes quite long to set up... So I'll try to do some more in my spare time;)

30 Things To Do

After the assessment, the Tutor who assess me and I both agree that VisCom is the best area for me. So her I am in VisCom@@!!

During the reading week, we have been told to do 30 things for the Monday the week after, here are some of the photos I have took and photos of those 30 things, please have a look;)

I haven't post all the photos because I have only showed you the best ones I got. Also, some of them have probably lost because they haven't stick on the wall hard enough, so they drop off and goes elsewhere....

After that, we have been told we have to develop 1 of the 30 things that we have done into a "portfolio piece". Therefore I chose the Fragmentation of the CD to carry on the development by adding in a little idea~.~ Have a look at the video here and see do u understand the concept/ message behind it. I'll tell you what it suppose to mean under the video;)

Before I talk about the Video, I also made a flick- book, which I find it, it is also a good presentational device for this project.

The idea/ message behind the video and the flick- book is actually about the loudness of the music that the musicians made. In another words, as the little pieces of CD fragment spreads out the furtherest, it represents the "Loudest Noise", So the name of the louder musicians will show up 1st. As the pieces gradually goes back to the middle and reform the circular shape of the CD, the Quieter musicians names will appear until it get the the quietest one, in this case is "Jack Johnson".

However, once again some people watch the video and look at the flick- book, they still misunderstood the message behind it as the least favorite musician to the most favorite musician.

For the solution if the misunderstanding, I think I should add sounds into the video so people may have a better chance to understand the message behind it. Or maybe I should take the idea of "least favorite to the most favorite one" and redo the whole thing.

After all, I think this project has made me "grown up" a bit as I have never try to make a video in my life yet (not counting the ones who videoing someone asleep, messing about...etc ). So i find this project is a very good experience and I wanted to make more video in order to improve my strength to become a better graphic designer.

3D Spatial

Sorry for the late blogging..... there is loads to do in VisCom and personal statement need to be finish asap....... so really can't find time to work on this.

Anyway, catching up with last month~ the last rotation is 3D spatial. We have to set up a still life in group of 5~6, to draw a "map" (8 drawings of different view of the still life we setted up)  in an A1 paper. It is related to where we came from. Although the still life didn't work well but we got the basic concept. Here are some of the Still life we setted up:

In the 2nd week, we produce some 3D models base on the drawings we have done. Here are some of the photos of the 3D models I have made:

I produced 3 simple models and all really base on paper, specially the first one; it all made out of paper.

Then base on these 3 models, I produced the 2 below as a further development piece, here is the pictures of them:

Because we have to produce something that is like a container, something to walk through and something to hold parts of our body. So the first one I made is for holding pencils rubber...etc. Also it is hanging on the wall which makes it quite special. Though I find it look better in 2D form.

On the other hand, for the "something to walk through" and "something to hold parts of the body", I produced the 2nd one. it looks like a bridge and as u can see in the photo how the structure hold my arms up~.~ tho is useless and really weak...

However, I do enjoy my time in 3D spatial. Moreover, slightly miss my group (Group C)... Hope everyone in Group C have a great time whatever they are doing now;)
